the last day in Chicago. A vintage photobooth

On the very last day of my trip in Chicago my mother and I strolled the streets relaxing and shopping in the fab little stores they have.
After lunch we were strolling and discovered this little gem...
Vintage photobooths are very hard to come across these days. Let alone a black and white one.
When I walked into this record/comic book store and casually turned to the right this little beauty stood in all its glory asking for me to take photos inside it and conclude my trip on such a high note. It was fabulous!

Chicago was amazing and I hope to go back soon.
Seeing old friends, shopping, art, photo booths, amazing food and happy people.

It was the perfect trip and I thank you for letting me share a little bit of it with you in this mini series.

Chicago day three what I'm wearing

While I was in Chicago it was freezing blustery weather but I braved it and decided to go out in a dress and tights even if I froze my a** off ;)
this is one of my favourite outfits now.
I got the heels and lace tights at the forever 21 down town Chicago.
And now that I think of it, Everything I'm wearing is from Forever 21 *giggle* I love that store for the vintage and modern styles they have.
Anyhow! These were taken in Suzanne's  (family friend we stayed with) back yard that I fell in love with.
I have a big crush on old brick buildings and little stone paths. It reminded me of somewhere you might find in Italy.

Shoes, Tights, Dress, Jacket all from Forever 21 (over kill much? *wink*)
.... and a vintage belt for good measure.

Did someone say Renegade Handmade?!

This store was a highlight of my trip.
Renegade Handmade is for all the people who want a little bit of the Renegade Craft Fair all year round.
It has over 400 artists and the works are all handmade!
It's such a darling store and I loved it.
I hope to get to the Renegade fair next year *crosses fingers*.
Here are some snaps from this wonderful store...

These cuckoo clocks reminded me of Kaylah so I just had to take a little snap!

If your ever in Chicago stop by at this darling shop for some handmade goods and keep it crafty!

The stores of Chicago

Hello my darlings!

Today's post is all about the stores of Chicago that I fell in love with.
I went into so many stores in the time I spent in Chicago but got some photos of the ones I really felt were unique in there own little way.
In the meantime here's a few of the shops I loved...

Photo of little Mary Jane candies in a candy store called Candyality that was just the most perfect candy store ever.

I popped into this rad little makeup store named Benefit and got a free makeover?! Sure thing! I got the most amazing lip Gloss/Balm that I use everyday. And The girl who helped me just happened to grow up homeschooled as well! What a small world.

Lories Planet Of Sound was amazing. I got the best of the Beach Boys record and listen to it all the time.

Super cute art store we popped into. Just adore these pieces above!

This was an awesome vintage store that my mother and I fell in love with.
It had the most amazing furniture and clothing and everything else vintage and cute!

The T-Shirt Deli was amazing. SUCH a good idea and I swooned over all the designs you could get. Too sweet!

I have a few other stores I went into but they deserve a post of their own *wink*.
Back soon my pretties!

Where did I go? Chicago!

Wonder why I haven't posted in a while? Well goodness me I have been wanting to let me tell you! I was off in the windy city for 5 days. Yes, the amazing Chicago!
We stayed with a family friend my mom has known for over 20 years.
It was so great to meet her and her family and share stories and see what wonderful people they are.

The first day my mom and I decided The Art Institute Of Chicago was a good idea to go to since there was a bit of a wind storm and it was pretty rainy. So what better thing to do then go to an amazing art gallery and just relax amongst the work.

I may have entered the Impressionist Gallery and grabbed my moms arm and squealed like a little girl... *wink*.
It was like a kid in a candy store for me and my mother.
We have both been such huge art fans and her having an art school in our house I grew up with her teaching art all the time.
It was wonderful seeing all the masters pieces.

I'll be back tomorrow with more from my trip!

Ever wanted to see what 63 cameras look like?

Holy!
I finally got around to counting all my cameras and the magic number is 63!
I thought I had at least 70... sounds like I need to get collecting more ;)
It took over an hour to lug all these out down the stairs and onto the lawn where I 'hearted' them all up.
I love my cameras with all my heart so I thought it would be appropriate to make a huge camera heart.

Do you have something you collect?

That 70s girl

Hola
Yesterday I was at Vinnies (my favorite) thrift store and found this beauty of a dress!
Homemade and for the amazing price of $4.
I swooned a little.
I whipped a 70s inspired look and  bust out the D80 to take some photos.
I hope you enjoy!
